At RVPLP we are privileged to be able to provide a bespoke nurture provision for children with social and emotional difficulties.The teacher in this provision is Mrs Harriet Long and she is supported by two support staff. The nurture provision can accommodate a maximum of 14 children and the children work on predominantly academic subjects in the morning and social and emotional targets in the afternoon. The children attend the nurture provision for a minimum of 1 term and a maximum of two years. They maintain close links with their mainstream classes by joining them at lunchtimes and on a Friday in the mainstream classroom. They also join their mainstream class for any special events. Children's progress is measured by the Boxall Profile and when their score indicates that they are operating socially and emotionally at an age appropriate level the child transitions back into the mainstream class at their own pace.
